Tonight my husband Sal and I fly to Rome, then it’s on to the port city of Civitavecchia, Italy for an overnight stay at the Hotel San Giorgio. On Saturday, we board the Star Clipper for seven nights cruising the Aeolian Islands, Messina, Amalfi, Sorrento, Ponza- Pontine Islands, and back to Civitavecchia. This beautiful 166 passenger sailing ship will indeed be an new and exciting adventure for us.

While we are out at sea, I will be doing a show and tell! I decided to make Polpette di Formaggio, or as my mother called them “war meatballs”. Wonderfully delicious balls made with cheese, bread, spices, eggs, all the ingredients minus the meat. Then, there is the story of how my experiment of trying to make a Italian tomato version of wild mushroom soup turned into a fabulous wild mushroom “Bolognese” sauce. Of course since I’m noted for my cookies, I decided to demonstrate a no-bake limoncello ball recipe which is also gluten free and quite tasty.
I promise to take lots of pictures and learn new recipes and share my adventures.
No way!! You go, Gurl!! What an adventure it will be for you and Sal…enjoy!!
